GNAC Baseball Weekly Honors: April 4, 2011

 

Jake Cintolo (Suffolk), Ford Coates (Rivier) and Mike Pratt (St. Joe’s ME) have earned Great Northeast Athletic Conference’s Baseball Weekly Honors.

 

 

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Mike Pratt, St. Joe’s Maine, So., Dartmouth, MA

Monks’ sophomore, Mike Pratt, hit .546 (6-11) in a 3-0 week for St. Joe’s. Pratt went 3-5 with a run, an RBI and a double in an extra-inning win over the 2010 NCAA DIII New England Regional champion UMass.-Boston. Currently, the first baseman is on an incredible 10-game hitting streak. In a 7-5 victory over Husson, Pratt did it once again by batting .500 (2-4) with two runs, an RBI, and a double.

 

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Jake Cintolo, Suffolk, Fr., Wrentham, MA

Suffolk’s rookie third baseman, Jake Cintolo, finished the week with a .579 (11-19) batting average that included a 5-for-5 day against Bridgewater State, where he had 1.000 on base percentage.  Cintolo went 2-for-3 with 2RBI and a double in the Rams’ 13-3 GNAC win over Emerson College. Overall, Cintolo brought in a total of 6 RBI with 11 hits, accounting for a .789 slugging percentage and .600 on base percentage, with flawless play at third base.

 

PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Ford Coates, Rivier, So., Raymond, NH

Rivier’s sophomore, Ford Coates, had a great week for the Raiders pitching the team to their first victory of the season. Coates went all 9 innings with a remarkable 14 strikeouts against Lesley College. He finished the week with a 1.00 ERA allowing only 6 hits and an opposing batting average of .194.
