Tennis Season Comes to a Close

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. -- The Saint Joseph College tennis team dropped an 8-1 decision to Mount Ida Saturday in its final match of the 2010 season.

Freshman April Loteczka (Ellington, Conn.) picked up the lone win for the Blue Jays with a three-set victory over Melissa Smith at No. 5 singles. Saint Joseph College seniors Gianna Gurga (Southington, Conn.) and Alicia Lienhop (Centereach, N.Y.) were honored before their final match.

Saint Joseph finished 4-11 overall and 2-6 in GNAC play. Lienhop earned a team-high nine wins on the season (five singles, four doubles) and junior Kameshia Cooper (Beacon, N.Y.) had seven (four singles, three doubles).
