Women's Lacrosse Earns Huge Senior Day Win Over Colby-Sawyer Saturday, 13-9

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. - For the second time in as many games, the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) women's lacrosse team used a strong second half to earn a huge win against the visiting Colby-Sawyer College (CSC) Chargers, 13-9, on Senior Day Saturday afternoon in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) contest held at the USJ Lacrosse Field in West Hartford, Conn. The Blue Jays outscored the Chargers 7-2 over the final 30 minutes, to turn a one-goal halftime deficit in to a four-goal victory. Sophomore attack Maya Tomko (Sparta, N.J.) netted her second career hat-trick, with all three of her goals coming in the second half, to fuel the charge for the Blue Jays. With the triumph, the Blue Jays improved to 9-5 overall on the 2023 season and 5-5 in GNAC play, while the Chargers slipped to 9-5 overall and 7-3 in the league with the setback.
