Providence, R.I. – The Johnson & Wales University athletic department was awarded the 2010-11 Great Northeast Athletic Conference Commissioner's Cup for both men's and women's sports.  It marks the third straight season the Wildcats have won the honor on the men's side and the first ever for the women.  It also marks the first time in the history of the award that the same institution has won both awards.

The Wildcats earned points in all but one men's sport offered by the GNAC. Johnson & Wales captured two GNAC championships in cross-country and men's basketball, and earned five points for each towards the GNAC Commissioner Cup. The men's teams earned a total of 21 points in the standings, two points ahead of St. Joseph's of Maine.

On the women's side, the Wildcats earned 10 points after taking home championships in cross country and volleyball.  JWU finished the season with 20 points, one point ahead of second-place Emerson.
