Marcy, N.Y. – The Wentworth men's volleyball team is off to a hot start after defeating nationally ranked Wells College 3-1 and Nazareth College 3-0 in day one of the SUNY Poly Invitational.
Wentworth took the first set from The Express in extra points, 27-25, before Wells pushed back, again in extended fashion, 26-24. The Leopards shut down the No. 7 Express in the closing sets, 25-21 and 26-24, and improve to 4-1 in the all-time series dating back to 2014. The Leopards' result is the first win against a nationally ranked opponent since last season when the Leopards defeated #15 Arcadia in early February.
The Leopards took care of Nazareth College in straight sets in the final match of the day by scores of 25-22, 25-21, and 25-20.
