Men's Basketball: Chappell nets 31 in win over Paul Smith's

NASHUA, N.H. – The Rivier University Men's Basketball team came back from a tough tournament with a victory over Paul Smith's College, 70-68 in a non-conference contest inside the Muldoon Gymnasium. The win boosts the Raiders overall record to 3-9 while the Bobcats fall to 5-10 on the season.

Senior Issaiah Chappell (Sunapee, N.H.) led all scorers with a game high of 31 points on 8-of-14 shooting. Junior Tyler Bradanese (Billerica, Mass.) pitched in with 9 points while freshman Chance Eason-Jones (Manchester, Conn.) brought down 7 rebounds on the night. Freshman Nesta Roberts (Manchester, Conn.) added nine points in the win.

Paul Smith's saw junior Brandon Degrasse (Bronx, N.Y.) score the night's only double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds. Junior Eddie Kwaw (Yonkers, N.Y.) added another 12 points and sophomore David Harris (Tampa, Fla.) sunk 10 points and had 9 rebounds on the night.

Next up for the Raiders is a Great Northeast Athletic Conference contest against Emmanuel College on Saturday for a scheduled 1:00 p.m. tip-off. The Bobcats return to conference play on Friday at Maine Machias, scheduled for a 3:00 p.m. tip-off.
