Saints Blast by Women’s Lacrosse

BOSTON, MA: Rivier women's lacrosse lost to Emmanuel College this evening in conference play on the road.

THE BASICS:

- Date: 3/22/23

- Score: Emmanuel 19, Rivier 1

- Records: Rivier (2-2, 1-2 GNAC), Emmanuel (6-0, 3-0 GNAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- Cassie Hemmerdinger (Pelham, NH) scored 48 seconds into the first quarter on a free position shot and was the only Rivier goal this evening. Emmanuel went on to put away seven goals in this quarter. Two goals were scored by Ella Marschitz, one apiece from Brianna Stephenson, Deja Srimouksavanh, Avery Robillard, Alex Gencarelli, and Livia Fedele.

- In the second quarter, four unanswered goals were earned by Emmanuel. Broghan Laundry, Robillard, Fedele, and Srimouksavanh each contributed with a goal.

- The Saints continued to shut down the Raiders in the third quarter with four more goals. Rachel Canedy, Srimouksavanh, Megan Steele, and Laundry all buried an Emmanuel goal.

- Emmanuel was unstoppable tonight, adding on a goal each from Emily Gates, Srimouksavanh, Laundry and Stephenson in the fourth quarter.

- Raiders' Margaret Smith (Portland, ME) saved 15 shots tonight. Isabella Thomas of Emmanuel had three saves and was tagged with the win.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

- Shots: Emmanuel 44, Rivier 9

- Ground Balls: Emmanuel 23, Rivier 16

- Penalties: Rivier received two yellow cards, Emmanuel received one yellow card
