GAME ONE:
NASHUA, NH: Rivier softball lost in extra innings to Albertus Magnus College in non-conference action at Raider Diamond.
THE BASICS:
- Date: 4/28/23
- Score: Albertus Magnus 2, Rivier 1
- Records: Rivier (17-22, 4-6 GNAC), Albertus Magnus (22-17, 9-3 GNAC)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- It was a scoreless first inning for the Raiders and the Falcons.
- In the second inning, Albertus Magnus got on the board from a single to left center, the run was unearned caused by an error earlier in the inning. Rivier quickly answered back with a single to left center from Alyssa Gerardi (Manchester, NH) driving in Avry Nelson (Methuen, MA).
- The game remained tied at 1-1 until the top of the eighth when the Falcons scored from a single to left field. The Raiders were unable to put anything together in the bottom of the eighth.
- Sydney Greeno (Shirley, MA) of Rivier pitched the full game and was flagged with the loss. Erin Dighello of Albertus Magnus took the win, earning three strikeouts.
GAME TWO:
NASHUA, NH: Rivier softball won against Albertus Magnus College in non-conference action at Raider Diamond.
THE BASICS:
- Date: 4/28/23
- Score: Rivier 7, Albertus Magnus 0
- Records: Rivier (18-22, 4-6GNAC), Albertus Magnus (22-18, 9-3 GNAC)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- No runs were scored in the first inning.
- Kylee Caetano (New Bedford, MA) of Rivier started off the bottom of the second with a single through the right side, pushing Olivia Couto (Fairhaven, MA) and Avry Nelson (Methuen, MA) home.
- The score remained 2-0 until the bottom of the fifth when Raiders' Christina Panagiotopoulos (Lowell, MA) reached first base because of an error, sending Haley Rapaglia (Methuen, MA) home. Raiders' Couto then doubled to right center, scoring Nelson and Panagiotopoulos, both unearned.
- In the sixth inning, Riv's Panagiotopoulos launched a triple to right center scoring Sarah Fraizer (Londonderry, NH) and Caetano.
- Nicole Verette (Haverhill, MA) of Rivier shut out the Falcons, only giving up four hits. Annabelle Jabs of Albertus Magnus received the loss.

- Caetano was 3-for-4, with 2 RBIs and 1 run
- Couto was 1-for-3, with 2 RBIs and 1 run
