Perette Breaks All-Time 3-Pt Record in Men's Basketball Loss to Albertus

PAXTON, MASS: The Anna Maria men's basketball team fell to the second seeded Albertus Magnus going into the GNAC playoffs. The AMCATS finished the year as the fourth seed and will host the first round.    

 THE BASICS:

- Date: 2/22/2020

Score: Albertus 98, Anna Maria 79

Records: Albertus (20-4, 9-2 GNAC), Anna Maria (10-15, 6-5 GNAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  The first half stayed relatively close with no team gaining a large upper hand early. The Falcons saw their largest lead when it hit eight after a four-minute scoreless streak by the AMCATS. Anna Maria cut the lead to just four with a 7-0 run with just three minutes left. The remaining time brought the score to a 37-31 Falcon lead going into the locker room.

-  For Albertus, the first half was lead by Tyreek Perkins who had a game high 15 points. Senior Bobby Perette (Marshfield, MA) finished with a team high 13 points going into the half.

-  The second half was all in the Falcons favor as they found their stride and shot 69% from the field and ended the game with 61 points just in the second. Anna Maria struggled to find the bottom of the net as they hit as low as 37% from the field and ended at 46.3%. They were only able to tally 48 points in the half.

- Davon Warner dropped 13 in the second while coming off the bench to lead the team at the final buzzer. Perette continued to have the hot hand in the second half as he finished with another 12 points.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

-  Jahmerikah Green-Younger finished with a team high for the Falcons after scoring 18 points along with 2 rebounds, and 2 assists.

-  Perette had the game high with 25 points included with 2 rebounds and 2 assists.

-  Mike Rapoza (Charlton, MA) finished with his 23rd double-double of the season after ending with 17 points and pulling down 18 rebounds.

- Senior Joseph Holmes (Shirley, MA) finished with 6 points and 2 rebounds. 

- Senior John Dombrowski (Leominster, MA) ended with 1 rebound and 2 assists.\

 UP NEXT:

- Anna Maria returns to action on Tuesday the 25th in the first round of the GNAC playoffs against Saint Joseph's College in the Fuller Center at 7:00 PM.
