Men's Basketball: Bradanese, Raiders can't top Norwich, 88-83

NASHUA, N.H. – The Rivier University Men's Basketball team fell this evening in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference to visiting Norwich University, 88-83 in front of a vociferous crown inside the Muldoon Gymnasium. The loss sends the Raiders to an overall record of 4-19 with a 1-9 mark against the league while the Cadets improve to 6-18 overall, 2-8 in the conference.

Sophomore Pharaoh Davis (Plainville, Mass.) led the way offensively for Rivier as he shot 9-for-13 from the field on his way to a game-high 27 points. Junior Tyler Bradanese (Billerica, Mass.) added 19 points and pulled down a team-high nine rebounds while senior Issaiah Chappell (Sunapee, N.H.) finished with 11 points. Also finishing with eleven points apiece were junior Patrick Myers (Wolfeboro Falls, N.H.) and freshman Nikolas Pignone (Stoneham, Mass.), who both came off the bench in the loss.

Norwich saw six different student-athletes reach double-figures, guided by senior Josh Dumay's (Framingham, Mass.) 18 points on 6-of-8 shooting from the floor. Sophomore Donovan Lewis Jr. (Savannah, Ga.) chipped in with 16 points and senior Dan Bertrand (Saugus, Mass.) registered a double-double with 10 points and 14 rebounds. Junior Kyle Booth (Northfield, Vt.) played well for the Cadets as he added 12 points while both sophomores Samuel-Noah Osarenkhoe (Stockholm, Sweeden) and Caleb Casinas (Aiea, Hawaii) ended their nights with 10 points each.

Rivier will wrap up the 2019-2020 season on Saturday afternoon as they celebrate Senior Day with a 3pm scheduled tip against Emmanuel College. Prior to the start of the contest, the Raiders will honor their three outgoing seniors in Chappell, Joshua L'Heureux (Dracut, Mass.) and Josh O'Loughlin (Milford, N.H.). Norwich will finish their campaign with a 1pm conference clash against Johnson & Wales (R.I.).
