Baseball Splits with Elms
CHICOPEE, MA: Rivier baseball split with Elms College this afternoon in conference action.

- Score: Elms 5, Rivier 3. Rivier 12, Elms 9
- Records: Rivier (5-13, 2-2 GNAC), Elms (12-4, 3-1 GNAC)
HOW IT HAPPENED: Game One
- The Raiders got the scoring started in the top of the first after two hits, and a hit by pitch Patrick Young (Billerica, MA) would bring two in to score on a single to center field. The Blazers responded in the bottom of the frame with a three-run inning. Aaron Young pushed the first across on a single. Tyler Galenski would bring two more in on a double to give Elms a 3-2 lead.
- The Blazers would tack on two more in the second inning, ending their run-scoring for the remainder of the game. George Chaya brought the fourth run in of the game on a single to center field. The last run would come across on a wild pitch. The Raiders would score the last run of the game in the top of the sixth on a Zach Tavares (Methuen, MA) single.
- Josh Guilmartin got the win (3-1) after pitching six innings allowing seven hits, two earned runs, and five strikeouts. TJ Alves would get the save, his first of the year. He pitched a hitless seventh inning. Wesly Martinez (Methuen, MA) was tagged with the loss (1-4) after throwing in five innings, allowing seven hits, four earned runs, and three strikeouts.

- Galenski was 1-for-3 with 2 RBIs.

HOW IT HAPPENED: Game Two
- The Raiders found themselves down two going into the sixth inning, 3-1. They would take their first lead after putting up a four spot. Young would get the sixth started with another RBI single. Jacob Plamondon (Manchester, NH) gave Riv the lead after batting in two on a single. Jacob Boudreau (Auburn, NH) would pick up his second RBI of the game on a single to push the lead to 5-3.
- Rivier would add to the lead in the top of the seventh inning by plating three more. Young would get another RBI after a run scored because he got plunked on a pitch. Plamondon would plate another on a fielder's choice, with the third scoring in the same sequence on a throwing error.
- The Blazers would rally back in the bottom of the seventh to regain the lead 9-8 on a six-run inning. Elms regained the lead on a streak of five singles that plated all six runs.
- The Raider wouldn't go down quietly, as they regained the lead in the top of the ninth with another four-run inning. Tavares would give his team the lead back on a single to left field that plated two. Now up 10-9, Riv would put another two runs on the board on a Zach White (Long Beach, CA) single to center field, giving them a three-run cushion and ultimately the win.
- Ty Baker (Hudson, NH) would get the win (3-1), pitching the last two innings of the contest, allowing just one hit, with a strikeout. Vinny Buono would be tagged with the loss (0-3) after pitching in one inning, allowing six hits, four earned runs, and one strikeout.
