Summary
MIDDLETOWN, R.I. - Senior forward Eliza Timms (Agawam, Mass.) accounted for all of the Salve Regina University field hockey team's scoring in a 4-1 victory over visiting Simmons University in non-conference action Wednesday evening.

Series and Streaks
The Seahawks even the all-time series 6-6 and have won two straight in the series.

Three Stars of the Game

  1. Salve Regina senior Eliza Timms scored all four goal for the Seahawks, bringing her season total to 10.
  2. Simmons junior Emma Sheehan (Taunton, Mass.) made a career-high 15 saves in the loss to fall to 3-2 in the cage.
  3. Salve Regina senior Abby Dubuc (Burlington, Vt.) was a force along the backline for the Seahawks, routinely halted Shark chances in transition.

Turning Point
Despite being outshot 27-5 through three quarters the Sharks had held the Seahawks scoreless in the second and third quarter to keep it a one goal game. In the 48th Sheehan made a stop on Timms, but the rebound found its way right back to the Seahawks forward who buried the second chance shot for some breathing room. Timms would leave no doubt with her fourth of the night in the 57th, one-timing a tip pass just inside the arc to put the Seahawks up 4-1.

Quick Hits

  • Salve Regina senior Olivia Butler (Sandy Hook, Conn.) made four saves on five shots faced to pick up the win and improve to 6-1 in net.
  • Simmons led for nearly seven minutes in the first quarter after Emily Plummer (San Diego, Calif.) converted on the first corner opportunity of the game.
  • Timms scored in the 11th and 15th to give Salve Regina the lead for good.
  • Salve Regina finished with a 32-6 shot advantage and a 7-3 edge in corners.
  • This was the fifth of seven home games in September for Salve Regina.

Turning Point
"It was great to see the team rebound from our last game. We had some strong stops back on defense that allowed us to push our transition game and have the offense that we did." - head coach Jennifer Foster.
