Men's Basketball: Davis drops 13 in loss to Anna Maria

PAXTON, MASS. – The Rivier University Men's Basketball team suffered another Great Northeast Athletic Conference setback this evening as they fell to Anna Maria College, 92-64 inside the Fuller Center. The loss sends the Raiders to 3-12 overall on the season and 0-2 against the conference while the AMCATS improve to 5-11 overall, 2-1 in league play.

Senior Issaiah Chappell (Sunapee, N.H.) was once again the team's leading scorer as he netted 15 points while collecting six rebounds, also the team high. Sophomore Pharaoh Davis (Plainville, Mass.) shot 6-of-10 from the field to finish with 13 points and freshman Kevin Redler (Manchester, Conn.) added eight points in a reserve effort.

For the AMCATS, senior Jared Rapoza (Charlton, Mass.) recorded the game's only double-double with 26 points and 18 rebounds. Also finishing with 26 points was classmate Bobby Perette (Marshfield, Mass.) and freshman Wallace Reed (Lynn, Mass.) totaled 11 points to account for the double-digit scorers in the win.

The Raiders will return to action on Saturday afternoon as they travel to the University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) for a 3pm tip. Anna Maria will also be on the road when they return to the court on Saturday for a 12pm start time at Regis College.
