Field Hockey Blanks Lasell; 3-0

Framingham, Mass. The Framingham State field hockey team defeated Lasell University 3-0 in non-conference play Thursday afternoon at Maple Street Field 

THE BASICS: 

- Score: Framingham State 3, Lasell 0 

- Records:Framingham State (5-3), Lasell (5-4) 

- Location: Maple Street Field – Framingham, Mass.  

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • The Rams got on the scoreboard in the 10th minute when Abby Clark tapped in a pass from Corlene Guenard to take the first quarter lead.  

  • In the opening minute of the 2nd the Rams pushed the lead to 2-0 when Kennedy St. Pierre tipped in a long strike from Corlene Guenard. 

  • The Rams were awarded a penalty stroke in the opening minutes of the third period, but Angelina Serra's shot was saved by Abby Boudreau with the blocker.  

  • Guenard got in on the action in the 43rd minute when Isabella Kondi sent in a long pass that set up Guenard one-on-one with keeper.  

  • The Lasers had a good opportunity midway through the fourth that was batted away by Kaitlin Loughlin in net and sent out of danger.  

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

  • Kaitlin Loughlin made four saves earning the win in goal for the Rams.  

  • Courtney Tello made two saves in the first half before giving was to Abby Boudreau who made four stops.  

  • The Rams led the game in shots 16-to-7 and in penalty corners 11-to-6.  

UP NEXT: 

  • The Rams travel to Worcester State on Saturday, October 1st for MASCAC action at noon. The Lasers will host USJ in GNAC action on the same day.
