Men's Basketball: Raiders bested by Albertus Magnus, 108-94

NASHUA, N.H. – The Rivier University Men's Basketball team dropped a hard-fought Great Northeast Athletic Conference contest this afternoon to visiting Albertus Magnus College, 108-94 inside the Muldoon Gymnasium. The loss sends the Raiders to an overall record of 3-17 with a 0-7 mark in league play while the Falcons improve to 16-4 overall, 5-2 against the GNAC.

Senior Issaiah Chappell (Sunapee, N.H.) recorded his third game of the season with 30+ points as he shot 10-for-19 from the floor on his way to a game-high 34 points. Sophomore Pharoah Davis (Plainville, Mass.) finished with 15 points along with junior Jack McCarthy (Rowley, Mass.) added his own 15-point night in a reserve effort for the Raiders. Freshman Chance Eason-Jones (Manchester, Conn.) pulled down seven rebounds to lead the team in the loss.

Alberuts Magnus' offense was guided by the sharp-shooting skills from sophomore Davon Warner (New Haven, Conn.). Warner led the team with 27 points while exclusively shooting 9-for-16 from beyond the arc in a reserve effort. Also coming off the bench strong was freshman Jon Delgado (Jersey City, N.J.), who finished with 11 points. Junior Tyreek Perkins (New Haven, Conn.) and sophomore Terry Dawkins (Bronx, N.Y.) each finished with 10 points.

Rivier will return to the court on Wednesday night as they host Colby-Sawyer College in a 7pm conference contest. Albertus Magnus will also be in action next on Wednesday as they host Lasell University in an 8pm GNAC affair.
