CHICOPEE, MA- The Elms College field hockey team held the visiting Saint Joseph's Monks to 4-0 shutout, keeping a scoreless first half.

How it Happened

The monks and blazers duke it out for homecoming weekend both teams battle back and forth in the first two quarters of the game. Ending the half with a 0-0 score. Both teams making efforts to get the first goal. The Monks outshot the Blazers 14-1 and 6-0 in corners for the first half.

The monks pull the head in the second quarter of the game with the first goal, leading them to 4-0 victory over the blazer. A strong performance by the Monks Maya waryas, Amy Adams and  Alexis Gutowski chipping in a goal each.  Molly Mccluskey solidified the win with a penalty shot in the last few minutes of the game.

The Blazers never let up with a strong performance by their goalkeeper Kaitlyn Lynes and Lauren Fletcher with a defensive save on Defense. Lynne's leading the defense with some crucial saves, having a total of 11 saves in the game.  The Blazers displayed a strong midfielder performance by Katie Jones with three shots that fell a little wide of the goal.
