Women's Volleyball Drops Road Match Against the Mules

CHICOPEE, MA - The Elms College women's volleyball team came up short on the court against the Colby College Mules on Tuesday night. The Blazers battle hard in all three sets but were unable to pull the win, (21-25, 22-25, 12-25).

How it Happened

The Elm's wome's volleyball team started off with a quick three point lead, 5-2. The Mules answered back with a quick five points, grabbing the lead by one point, 6-7. The Blazers and the Mules battled back and fourth for the lead, point by point. With the score matched up 10-10, with a couple kills from Laura Jensen and Jaylianne Ramos Figueroa the Blazers build up another lead, 20-17. Decpite the Blazers lead the Mules go on a 3 point lead to bring the gap to a point difference, 21-20. Colby attains a quick 5 points to secure the set win, the Mules up 0-1 in the match.

The Blazers started off this set with a 6-1 lead. The Mules would come back and close the gap by going on a 5 point run, Elms still holding onto the lead by a point early in the match, 7-6. The Blazers would lose hold of the lead, climbing point by point to close the gap the Mules had created. Elm's would fall short by three points falling 22-25, Mules are up 0-2 in the match.

The third set begins and quickly the Mules strike up a seven point lead, 6-13. The Blazers keep fighting and are able to get six more points before the Mules secure the set win. The Colby College Mules would win the final set 12-25, beating the Blazer 3-0 in the non conference match.
