Bio

Kristin Barrett began her tenure with the GNAC as the Assistant to the Commissioner during the 2024-25 academic year.

Her position is supported through the NCAA Division III Ethnic Minority and Women’s Internship Grant, a program that provides funding for entry-level administrative positions at NCAA Division III schools and conference offices.

In this role, Barrett assists with special projects and initiatives including the 2025 GNAC Professional Development Seminar on Student-Athlete Mental Health and the GNAC Leadership Forum, as well as coordinating the GNAC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). She also manages day-to-day operations related to social media, community engagement, and event management at conference championships, supports strategic planning, oversees the recruitment of new sport officials, and provides mentorship to GNAC interns. Additionally, Barrett has represented the conference at events including the NCAA Internship Grant Orientation, the NCAA Emerging Leaders Seminar, and multiple NCAA Conventions.

A former Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Inclusive Excellence Representative, GNAC Commissioner’s Council Representative, and Track and Field student-athlete at Regis College, Barrett was a two-time GNAC champion and team captain during her senior year. She earned All-GNAC and Academic All-GNAC honors, was named a College Sports Communicators Academic All-District selection, and received the Female Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award.

Barrett graduated Co-Valedictorian from Regis in May 2024 with a B.A. in Marketing and Communication, minors in Business Management, Journalism and Media Studies, and a 4.0 GPA. As Student Government President and a member of the Regis College Honors Program, she earned several academic distinctions, including the Outstanding Communications Student Award and the Maria Leonard Book Award. She completed her M.A. in Strategic Sports Communication at Regis in May 2025.

Additionally, Barrett completed three undergraduate internships, including two with WATD 95.9 FM Radio in Marshfield, Mass., where she worked alongside morning show host Rob Hakala, and one with the Regis College Office of Advancement, assisting with media relations, interviewing, publishing, and website management.
