NEW LONDON, N.H. - Elyza Mitchell was named to the NEWBA week two second team honor roll this afternoon after her performance for the women's basketball team this past week.

The Chargers are 6-1 for the first time since 2006, with strong play from Junior, Elyza Mitchell (Spofford, N.H.) who is currently having a breakout season. Mitchell is currently leading the team in double-doubles, picking up 4 straight over the last four games. She has also been one of the top scorers for the team since the start of the season, while shooting 45% from the field.

Mitchell helped lead the Chargers to a 2-1 week with wins over Plymouth State and iFitchburg state, while dropping 23 points in a loss to undefeated Nichols College to end the week. She averaged 16.6 points, 10.3 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2.6 steals per game over those three games to receive this weekly honor roll nod. 

Mitchell and the team return to action on Wednesday, December 4th, as they travel to take on a tough Amherst squad who sits at 4-1 on the young season.
