GNAC Men's Lacrosse Report: Week 4

(FOR THE WEEK OF MARCH 18-24)

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Shane Puleo, St. Joseph's (Me.) (So., A - Nashua, N.H.)

Registered 10 total points with four goals and six assists in two SJC wins last week. Puleo netted two goals with three assists in each of the Monks' victories, a 13-8 triumph over NEC on Wednesday and a 17-9 win over JWU on Saturday.

 

GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK

Logan Skinner, St. Joseph's (Me.) (So., GK - Irving, Texas)

Skinner was lights-out in a pair of Monks' victories last week, as the sophomore netminder posted an 8.50 goals against average with a 63.8% save percentage in victories over New England College and Johnson & Wales. Skinner tallied a career-high 17 stops in a 13-8 triumph over NEC on Wednesday and turned away 13 shots in a 17-9 win over JWU on Saturday to help SJC post their first five-game winning streak since 2012. 

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

James Anderson, Lasell  (Fr., A - Medway, Mass.)

Scored five goals in a pair of Lasell victories (1-0 GNAC), including an overtime game-winner. He scored twice in Lasell's 9-8 overtime win over Wentworth, including the game-winner in OT, and he tallied three goals in a GNAC win over Albertus Magnus. He also picked up five ground balls in the two games and caused two turnovers.


WEEK 4 HONOR ROLL

Erik Lindaas, Johnson & Wales (RI) (Sr., A - Milford, Pa.) - Averaged four goals in a pair of games ... Had three goals versus Salve Regina ... Came back with five goals versus SJC.

Alex Beauchemin, Lasell (Fr., GK - Westfield, Mass.) - Recorded a 5.91 goals against average and a 59.1 save percentage in a pair of Laser wins. He made 11 saves on 19 shots in a 9-8 overtime win over Wentworth, and made two saves on three shots in the first half in a GNAC win over Albertus Magnus.

Ryan Madden, Lasell (Sr., M - Hingham, Mass.) - Recorded seven points in a pair of Lasell victories (1-0 GNAC). He tallied one assist in Lasell's 9-8 overtime win over Wentworth, and he tallied three goals and three assists in a GNAC win over Albertus Magnus.

Michael Daras, Regis (Mass.) (So., M - Danvers, Mass.) - Daras continued to lead Regis offensively over the past week. Tuesday at Albertus Magnus, he earned his first hat trick of the season, the third of his collegiate career, with three goals along with one assist against Albertus Magnus. His first goal tied the game at 1-1, while his second tally with 27 seconds left in the second quarter gave the Pride a 3-2 halftime lead. Thursday against Becker, he collected two goals, two assists, and six ground balls as Regis earned an 11-5 victory. Both goals and one of his assists came in the first half as the Pride established a 7-2 advantage by halftime. Daras currently leads the team with eight goals and 13 total points, plus he is second on the squad with five assists.
