NEW LONDON, N.H. – October 13, 2018 – The Colby-Sawyer women's soccer team scored a goal in each half to defeat the University of Saint Joseph (CT), 2-0, in Saturday's Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) contest at Kelsey Field.

Colby-Sawyer improves to 6-6 overall and 6-4 in the GNAC. The Chargers travel to Saint Joseph's of Maine on Wednesday. The Blue Jays fall to 6-6-1 overall and 4-5-1 in the conference. They will host Albertus Magnus on Wednesday.  

The home team didn't waste any time to get the board first with a goal less than two minutes into the match. Senior Hannah Fields (Shapleigh, Maine) deposited her team leading seventh goal of the season off a nice feed from junior Leah Dupuis (Concord, N.H.).

The Chargers added an insurance goal in the second half off the foot of senior Shari Rainville (Highgate Center, Vt.).

Colby-Sawyer senior Oona Bond (Southborough, Mass.) made seven saves in the win, while Megan Ricci (Center Moriches, N.Y.) also had seven stops for the Blue Jays.

The Chargers held a slim edge in shots 14-10 and an 8-4 advantage in corner kicks 8-4.
