NEW LONDON, N.H. – October 13, 2018 – The Colby-Sawyer women's soccer team scored a goal in each half to defeat the University of Saint Joseph (CT), 2-0, in Saturday's Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) contest at Kelsey Field.
Colby-Sawyer improves to 6-6 overall and 6-4 in the GNAC. The Chargers travel to Saint Joseph's of Maine on Wednesday. The Blue Jays fall to 6-6-1 overall and 4-5-1 in the conference. They will host Albertus Magnus on Wednesday.
The home team didn't waste any time to get the board first with a goal less than two minutes into the match. Senior
Hannah Fields (Shapleigh, Maine) deposited her team leading seventh goal of the season off a nice feed from junior
Leah Dupuis (Concord, N.H.).
The Chargers added an insurance goal in the second half off the foot of senior
Shari Rainville (Highgate Center, Vt.).

Oona Bond (Southborough, Mass.) made seven saves in the win, while Megan Ricci (Center Moriches, N.Y.) also had seven stops for the Blue Jays.
The Chargers held a slim edge in shots 14-10 and an 8-4 advantage in corner kicks 8-4.
