NEW LONDON, N.H. – September 22, 2018 – The Colby-Sawyer men's soccer team scored twice in each half to defeat Lasell, 4-0, in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action on Saturday afternoon.
Colby-Sawyer improves to 3-5 overall and 3-2 in the GNAC. The Chargers travel to nationally ranked Saint Joseph's (Maine) on Wednesday. Lasell drops to 1-4-2 overall and 0-3-2 in the conference. The Lasers will host Albertus Magnus on Wednesday.
Senior
Noah Camelo (Marblehead, Mass.) headed in a service on a corner kick from first-year
Tim Driscoll (Framingham, Mass.) in the ninth minute to give Colby-Sawyer a quick 1-0 lead.
In the 12th minute, first-year
Ryan Kresco (Moultonborough, N.H.) was then set up by senior teammate
Anthony Romeo (Albany, N.Y.). He ripped a shot into the left corner of the net for his third goal of the season.
Kresco was at it again early in the second half with his team leading fourth tally of the season. Less than three minutes into the frame, Kresco scored on a breakaway which was set up by senior
Kevin Tracy (West Hartford, Conn.).
Senior
Yannick Gonsalves (Oak Bluffs, Mass.) added an insurance goal in the 57th minute. Driscoll sent a ball into the box and Gonsalves headed home his first goal of the season.
Lasell's Carter Migre (Halifax, Mass.) led the team with two shots on target.
First-year
Lucas Boetsch (Rockport, Maine) earned his second win of the season and made eight saves. Junior Jackson Burhans (Berlin, N.Y.) was saddled with the loss with four goals allowed and seven saves in 59 minutes. Junior Teo Cugno (Medford, Mass.) made three saves in 31 minutes.
