ORLANDO, Fla. – Saint John's tennis split two matches on Tuesday, March 3, at the USTA National Campus in Orlando.

The Johnnies (7-1 overall) cruised to a 9-0 win over Regis (Mass.) earlier in the day before falling to Division I Hampton 6-1 this evening. The Hampton match was played under Division I rules, in which the three doubles matches served as one point in the final score. The Pirates swept all three bouts.

Junior Nate Jordre (St. Cloud, Minn./Tech) won the lone match for SJU at No. 1 singles, 7-5 and 7-5.

SJU takes Wednesday off before returning to competition with an 11 a.m. ET match against Division II Cedarville (Ohio) on Thursday, March 5, at the Lake Cane Tennis Center in Orlando.
