BIDDEFORD, Maine - December 8, 2018 - Colby-Sawyer sophomore
KJ Synvrit (Miami, Fla.) scored 18 points in 20 minutes off the bench to help the men's basketball team earn a 108-101 road win at the University of New England on Saturday.
Colby-Sawyer improves to 5-2 and will return home next week to host NVU-Lyndon and New England College to conclude the first semester. UNE drops to 2-8.
Synvrit was 5-of-8 from the floor and 8-of-9 from the free throw line to record his career high. Junior
Patrick Coffey (Westford, Mass.) continued his hot scoring with a team best 22 points on 10-of-15. Sophomore
Nate Trevino (Boerne, Texas) was 7-of-11 for 18 points and grabbed a game best 12 rebounds. Senior
Jourdain Bell (Manchester, N.H.) contributed 17 points, while first-year
Terrence Harvey Jr. (Smyrna, Ga.) registered 13 points and six assists in his first start. First-year
Nick Backer (Tamarac, Fla.) chipped in 11 points and six rebounds off the bench.
UNE was led by Alex Kravchuk's 22 points. Ricardo Castillo added 18 on 6-of-11 shooting from three-point land. Avery DeBrito rounded out the leading scorers with 11.
The home team took 98 shots, 64 of them coming from beyond the arc, but shot just 33.7% from the floor. Colby-Sawyer was efficient from the field at 51.9% on 40-of-77. UNE won the rebounding battle 57-51.
Colby-Sawyer knocked in 24-of-32 free throws, while UNE made 14-of-20.
