Men's Tennis Sweeps Suffolk in GNAC Opener

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - March 23, 2019 - The Colby-Sawyer men's tennis team played its first conference match as a member of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) on Saturday and defeated Suffolk by a 9-0 score. 

Colby-Sawyer improves to 5-4 overall and is 1-0 in the GNAC. The Chargers play at Wheaton tomorrow at 1 p.m. Suffolk falls to 0-3 overall and 0-1 in the conference. 

Alex Wright won his singles and doubles matches this afternoon to move into fourth on the all-time wins list with 89. He moved into t-3rd in career singles wins with 50 and is ninth in doubles wins at 39. 

Matt Burke and Cam Lynch at No. 1 and Wright and Julius Lowman at No. 2 won their doubles matches by an 8-4 score. Mike White and Erik Antonacci picked up an 8-3 win at No. 3. 

All six doubles players then won singles matches in straight sets.
