NEW LONDON, N.H. – November 20, 2018 – The Colby-Sawyer College women's basketball team fell to Plymouth State, 75-52, in non-league action on Tuesday evening.

Plymouth State improves to 5-0 on the season and will play at Lasell on Monday. Colby-Sawyer dips to 2-2 and will travel to Middlebury, which is coached by Colby-Sawyer Hall of Famer KJ Krasco '05, on December 1.

The Panthers were led by senior Jess Conant (Canton, Maine). She poured in a game-high 21 points on 10-of-17 shooting. Senior Brittany Roche (Londonderry, N.H.) also reached double figures with 14 points. Senior Cassidy Emerson (Concord, N.H.) added eight points and brought down a team best 11 rebounds.

Junior Lexie Hamilton (Sunapee, N.H.) led the Chargers with 16 points. Junior Tianna Sugars (Oxford, Maine) recorded her third double-double of the season with 13 points and a game best 13 rebounds. Sophomore Joslin Wainwright (Plainfield, N.H.) chipped in with eight points and five rebounds.

The Chargers opened the game with back-to-back treys by Hamilton, but Plymouth State's Roche answered with a pair of her own. After another bucket from Hamilton, Roche connected on her third-straight three-pointer to put the Panthers in front, a lead they would not relinquish. Plymouth State ended the first frame 4-of-6 from beyond the arc and 8-of-14 from the field for a 23-13 advantage.

Plymouth State's hot shooting carried over to the second quarter as the team shot 52.9% from the floor. Freshman Maysen Tyler (Bridge City, Texas) connected from beyond the arc as the lead surged to 30-15 early in the second. Sugars cut the deficit to single digits, 40-31, after completing a three-point play with two minutes left in the half. Plymouth State was able to take a 44-32 advantage into the half after an Elizabeth McLaughlin (Melvin Village, N.H.) scored on the final possession.
