HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Bulldogs wasted little time getting on the board, scoring only seven seconds into the game. Sophomore Tyler Benedetto (Jupiter, Fla.) took an opening faceoff win straight to goal and scored to give Dean a 1-0 lead. - The Bulldogs added to their lead in the second quarter, outscoring the Saints 3-1. Dean junior Greg Centeio (Fairhaven, Mass.) and Saints junior Derek DelVecchio (Saugus, Mass.) traded goals 28 seconds apart in the second, but Alverez-Segee and sophomore Alec Speirs (Old Lyme, Conn.) each scored before the half, helping Dean grow their lead to 8-2, at the half.
- DC junior Matthew Pacheco (Warwick, R.I.) and EC sophomore Robert Favuzza (Saugus, Mass.) were the only scorers of the third quarter as Dean took a six-goal lead into the fourth quarter.
- The Bulldogs expanded on their lead in the final 15 minutes, scoring the first four goals of the quarter, including three by Speirs, giving Dean a 13-3 lead. Saints sophomore Aiden Sullivan (Burlington, Conn.) finished off the scoring on the afternoon, as the Saints fell to the Bulldogs 13-4.
