WATERVILLE, Maine - January 5, 2019 - Junior
Tianna Sugars (Oxford, Maine) notched her seventh double-double of the season to lead the Colby-Sawyer women's basketball team to a non-league road win at Thomas College, 53-39.
The Chargers have won three in a row to improve to 8-4. Colby-Sawyer will begin Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play at home on Tuesday against the University of Saint Joseph. Thomas falls to 3-10.
Sugars recorded game-highs of 14 points and 12 rebounds to lead Colby-Sawyer. Junior
Lexie Hamilton (Sunapee, N.H.) contributed 11 points and seven assists. Junior
Kristen Donaghey (Franklin, Mass.) was the third Charger to score double figures with 10 points. Sophomore
Joslin Wainwright (Plainfield, N.H.) added eight points and eight rebounds.
Thomas was led by Addie Brinkman's 12 points. Molly Horton was 5-of-7 for 11 points, while Molly Carroll tallied 10 points.
Colby-Sawyer used efficient three-point shooting for the third game in a row, hitting at least 35%, en route to another victory. The Chargers made 6-of-17 on Saturday. Colby-Sawyer also won the glass by a 40-33 edge.
