
WINTHROP, Mass. - Colby-Sawyer is once again your Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Women's Cross Country Champions as the Chargers collected their fifth GNAC trophy in a row in the 6k course at Norwich University. They collected 53 points as a team, gaining 30 more than the runner-up.
Colby-Sawyer posted four all-conference honorees, including two on the first-team. Finishing as the overall runner-up in the race for the Chargers was first team all-conference member Adriana Nadeau, who ran a time of 23:51.8 to lead the way for Colby-Sawyer as her teammate Samantha Carus (25:30.1) finished seventh, earning first team honors as well. Placing on the second team at 13 and 14 were Maisy Hill (26:25.9) and Leah O'Neill (26:31.1).
Emmanuel (83 points) finished as this year's runner-up as they were led by two second team all-conference honorees in Sydney Gonzalez (25:40.9) and Kendall Newton (26:18.9), finishing in ninth and 13th.
Johnson and Wales finished third with 93 points as they were led by third-place finisher Marissa Lombardi (25:02.9), placing her on the first team.
Norwich came in fourth, collecting 108 points with fourth place finisher Delaney Whitmarsh (25:08.1) and 11th place finisher Cecelia Winters (26:08) both earning first and second team honors, respectively.
Simmons came in fifth place, posting 121 points as second team member Wanda Cirillo (10th) crossed the finish line at 25:42.3.
Regis (165) and Lasell (167) posted a first team all-conference honoree each as Aubrey Heise (Regis) came in fifth with a 25:16.7 time and Ella Meeker (Lasell) clocked in a 25:31.6 time, good for ninth.
Rivier (198) came in eighth but were led by the individual champion Emma McEvoy, who clocked in a 23:48.3 time for the Raiders.
Saint Joseph's (Maine) (201) was led by first team all-conference honoree Haley Williams, who came in sixth with a time of 25:28.7.
Elms (234) finished 10th as they were led by Olivia Morin and Dean (327) finished 11th, led by Emma Cotsonas.
New England College and the University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) did not have enough runners for team competition but were led by Sophia Lapointe (NEC) and Faith Shores (USJ).
