Rivier Selected As GNAC Women's Volleyball Preseason Favorite

Boston, Mass. – Defending GNAC tournament champion Rivier has been selected first in the 2008 GNAC women’s volleyball preseason poll with 136 points. Johnson & Wales was a very close second with 135 points, followed by Emerson and Norwich, respectively.

Under the guidance of Head Coach Craig Kolek, All-Granite State Women’s Volleyball Coach of the Year, Rivier finished last season with a 25-12 record overall and 15-1 GNAC record. The 2008 team will be lead by 2007 GNAC All-Second team and all tournament selection senior Nicole Hersey (Milton, NH) and all tournament selection sophomore Nicole Rodriguez (Newton, MA).

The Johnson & Wales Wildcats (27-12) finished a close second in the preseason polls. The Wildcats finished the 2007 season as GNAC regular season champions. Emerson was picked to place third and Norwich fourth.
