      <title>Six GNAC Women's Swimming Teams Competed in the New England Championships</title>

      <description>Simmons College earned 251 points to finish 11th overall. The Saint Joseph College (130) swim team set seven school-records, including four relay records, and took a program-best 15th place finish. Second-year program St. Joe's (Maine) posted five program record times, including three relay records, and also took a program-best 17th place. The Norwich University Cadets amassed 62 points to finish 18th. Elms College finished with a three-day total of 37 points to finish 20th, while Husson College earned 20 points for a 21st place finish.</description>

Simmons College Swimming &amp; Diving was named Great Northeast Athletic Conference Champion of 2008. The win, Simmons' fifth in a row, and seventh in eight years, capped the two-day meet where three GNAC records and two pool records fell. More than 100 athletes from the conference's seven teams gathered at the Simmons College Holmes Sports and Fitness Center to race for the championship title.</description>
