GNAC Women's Soccer Report: Week 8

(FOR THE WEEK OF OCT. 15-21)

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Haley DaGraca, Saint Joseph's (Maine) (Sr., F - Saco, Maine)

DaGraca potted three goals and added an assist for seven total points in a pair of conference victories last week. The senior forward tallied two goals and an assist in a 5-1 win over Albertus Magnus on Saturday.

GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK

Lexi Gawron, Emmanuel (Mass.) (Jr., GK - South Hadley, Mass.) 

Gawron was perfect on the week for Emmanuel with a pair of shutout victories in GNAC play over Suffolk and Simmons. The junior posted eight saves in a 1-0 win over the Rams on Wednesday before stopping two shots in a 2-0 victory over Simmons on Saturday that helped EC clinch a first-round home game in next week's GNAC Quarterfinals.

Jordan Restivo, Johnson & Wales (RI)(Fr., F - Utica, N.Y.) 

Restivo scored a goal in each of the Wildcats' victories last week, including the game-winner in just the second minute of the match against Simmons.


WEEK 8 HONOR ROLL 

Kaylin Deschenes, Emmanuel (Mass.) (Jr., D - Lynn, Mass.) Deschenes contributed on both sides on the pitch in a 2-0 week for Emmanuel, leading the defensive charge in the Saints' backfield by holding Suffolk and Simmons scoreless for a pair of shutout wins. The centerback also got into the scoring column against the Sharks, connecting on a header goal for her fifth marker of the year, the most by a defensive player in the GNAC.

Olivia Cairrao, Johnson & Wales (RI) (So., M - Bristol, R.I.) Tallied a trio of goals in a pair of GNAC victories...Opened with a goal against Simmons. Produced two tallies in the win at Rivier ... Moved up to second in the league with 13 goals.

Colleen Lynch, Johnson & Wales (RI) (Jr., GK - New Milford, Conn.) Recorded a pair of shutouts on the road ... Stopped all three shots she faced in the 2-0 win at Simmons ... Only had to make one save to get the shutout in the 5-0 win at Rivier. 

Erika Badger, Lasell (Sr., M - Scituate, Mass.) Totaled two goals and one assist in a 3-0 week for the Lasers (2-0 GNAC), posting at least one point in all three games. She scored Lasell's first goal, tying the game at 1-1 in the second half, in Monday's 2-1 non-conference win over Roger Williams; she assisted on Lasell's third goal in Wednesday's 4-1 GNAC win over Norwich; and she scored Lasell's second goal, midway through the first half, in Saturday's 3-0 conference victory over Saint Joseph (Conn.).
