GNAC Women's Soccer Report: Week 7

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Haley DaGraca, Saint Joseph's (Maine) (Sr., F - Saco, Maine)

DaGraca was a clutch performer for the Monks last week, registering eight points with a goal in each of the Monks' three wins, highlighted by the senior captain's game-winning goals in overtime victories over Emmanuel College and Johnson & Wales University.

GOALKEEPER / ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Adia Grogan, Saint Joseph's (Maine) (Fr., GK - Kennebunk, Maine)

Grogan helped the Monks earn three wins last week (two in OT) as she made 11 saves on the week, including eight saves in the huge conference 1-0 overtime road victory at Johnson & Wales, which almost certainly will have an impact on playoff seeding. Overall, she posted a 1.26 GAA on the week (0.92 in conference) and .733 save percentage (.833 in conference play).


WEEK 7 HONOR ROLL 

Oona Bond, Colby-Sawyer (Sr., GK - Southborough, Mass.) Bond picked up a pair of wins in net for the Chargers in a 2-0 week. She allowed two goals and made a pair of saves in preserving a 3-2 victory at Rivier. She then made seven saves and earned a clean sheet in a 2-0 win over St. Joseph (CT). Overall, she registered a .818 save percentage and 1.00 GAA with nine total stops.

Kayla Generis, Emmanuel (Mass.) (Sr., F - Wethersfield, Conn.) Generis put together a big week for the Saints, collecting nine points on four goals and one assist. The senior started the week off with a road goal against Saint Joseph's (ME) before enjoying a huge senior day outing against Anna Maria with a hat trick and one assist in the Saints' 8-0 victory over the AMCats. On the week, she attempted six shots with four of them finding the back of the net.

Oriana Attridge, Regis (Mass.) (Fr., GK - Westwood, Mass.) Attridge helped Regis pick up a key victory Wednesday night over Norwich and kept the Pride in Saturday's match at conference leader Lasel in a 1-1 week. Against the Cadets, she made two saves in the first half as Regis established a lead on its way to a 6-2 victory. Saturday, she posted a save percentage of .889, making a season-high 16 saves to keep Regis close to the Lasers throughout the contest. Overall, Attridge made 18 saves for a weekly .818 save percentage and 2.67 GAA. The 16 saves in a single match are the most by a Regis goalie in exactly eight years. Attridge is now fifth in the GNAC with a .795 save percentage for the season, plus she is eighth in the league with 66 total saves. 

Kaylee Francis, Regis (Mass.) (Fr., M/F - Millis, Mass.) Francis set the tone in Wednesday's conference victory over Norwich, first scoring just 1:19 into the contest. She scored her second goal of the match in the 13th minute after making a signficant move to put the Cadet goalie out of position. She added an assist on Regis's fifth goal of the match as the Pride defeated the Cadets, 6-2. It was her third straight game with at least one goal and her second two-goal performance of the season, both coming in league contests. Saturday, she was one of two Pride players with at least one shot on goal against Lasell. Francis is tied for fifth in the GNAC in both goals (9) and points (22) so far this season.  

Cíara Forde, Simmons (Sr., M - Quincy, Mass.) In two matches, the senior tallied three goals for six points. The forward tallied the Sharks' only goal in a 2-1 loss at Albertus Magnus College on October 10 and capped the week by netting a pair of goals in a 4-0 victory over Norwich University on October 13 to give her a career-high 13 markers on the season.
