GNAC Women's Lacrosse Report: Week 5

( FOR THE WEEK OF MARCH 25-31 )

	PLAYER OF THE WEEK  Brittany Ireland, Colby-Sawyer (Sr, F - Amherst, N.H) The reigning GNAC Player of the Week posted seven points in each of the three games to lead the team with 21 in a perfect 3-0 week. She finished with 9 goals and 12 assists to go along with 11 draw controls, five ground balls and four caused turnovers. Ireland began the week with three goals on four shots in a 15-4 win against Husson. She also had a game-high four assists against the Eagles. In the team's big 13-9 win over Emmanuel, Ireland posted a game-high seven points on four goals and three assists. She finished the week, in an 18-5 GNAC road win at Simmons, with a game-best seven points on two goals and five assists. Ireland also had a game-high six draws against the Sharks. She moved into 4th on Colby-Sawyer's all-time assists list with 54.
	GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK Kailyn Lapham, Colby-Sawyer (Jr, G - Medway, Mass.) Lapham picked up 3 wins in goal for the Chargers in three chances last week. She logged 150 minutes and had a 6.40 goals against average and a 51.5% save percentage. In the win over Husson, Lapham played the first half and allowed two goals and made two saves. She also had a pair of ground balls and a caused turnover. In the 13-9 win over Emmanuel, the junior made six saves and added a game-best four ground balls and a caused turnover. She ended the week with an impressive performance at Simmons. Lapham had nine saves and let in just five goals. She added two ground balls and another caused turnover. She moved into fourth on Colby-Sawyer?s all-time wins list with 16 victories.
	ROOKIE OF THE WEEK Madison Neilander, Albertus Magnus (Fr., D/M - Wallingford, Conn.) In a stellar 3-0 week for the Falcons, the freshman recorded 13 goals and two assists for 15 points, while also collecting nine ground balls, 20 draw controls and caused six turnovers. She kicked off the week recording a career-high 11 draw controls to go along with four goals, two assists and two ground balls in the win at Dean. Neilander recorded another four-goal game in the win over Bay Path on Thursday and capped the week with a five-goal performance in the GNAC win over Rivier.

WEEK 5 HONOR ROLL
Kylie Rice, Emmanuel (Mass.) (Jr, A - Bethlehem, Conn.) - Collected nine points on six goals and three assists for Emmanuel while adding four groundballs, three caused turnovers and two draw controls. The junior now has 99 career points and will look to become the eighth player in program history to hit the 100-point milestone this week.

Maria Patane, Johnson & Wales (RI) (Jr., M - Greenwich, N.Y.) - Patane had 10 goals and four asissts for 14 points in a 1-1 week. 

Vanessa Pino, Lasell (Sr., A - Methuen, Mass.) - Collected 11 points on nine goals and two assists in an 0-2 week for Lasell. She scored five goals in an 11-10 loss at Regis, and tallied four goals and two assists in a 21-15 setback to Johnson & Wales. She also recorded two ground balls, two draw controls and three caused turnovers.

Missy Preul, Norwich (So., M - Scottsdale, Ariz.) - Nine points in Norwich's 1-1 week. Started with four goals on five shots with four DCs in a 20-3 victory over St. Joseph. Followed with two goals and two assists against SJCME on Saturday. 

Kerri Anselmo, Regis (Mass.) (Jr., A - Natick, Mass.) - Anselmo led Regis in points over the past week as the Pride earned two close victories to extend their winning streak to six games. Last Monday at UMass Dartmouth, she scored three goals within the first 10:30 of the match to notch her second hat trick of the season. In the second half, she dished out two assists, including one with 2:03 remaining in regulation for a needed insurance goal that would become the game-winning tally in a 12-11 victory. Wednesday against Lasell, she collected one goal and four assists, playing a role in five of Regis' first seven goals as the Pride established a lead they would hold onto in the 11-10 win. 

Marin Owens, Rivier (Sr, Midfield - Brookline, N.H.) - Owens had six goals and six assists for 12 points in a 2-05 victory over Anna Maria. 

Molly Reinhold, Simmons (Sophomore, M - Mystic, Conn.) - The sophomore tallied eight points on six goals and two assists to go with nine ground balls, 10 draw controls and five caused turnovers. The midfielder scored five times and added an assist to help fuel the Sharks biggest comeback in school history, erasing a six-goal deficit to earn a 15-13 victory over Saint Joseph's College (Maine) on March 27. She also added five draw controls, three ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers. Reinhold capped the week with a goal and an assist in addition to five draw controls, three caused turnovers and a career-high six ground balls vs. Colby-Sawyer College on March 30.
