GNAC Women's Lacrosse Report: Week 1

(FOR THE WEEK OF FEB. 23 - MARCH 3)

PLAYER OF THE WEEK 

Allison Pazienski, Johnson & Wales (RI) (Sr., M - New Hyde Park, N.Y.)

Pazienski averaged 4.3 goals per game in a 2-1 week to open the season for JWU, registering 13 goals and five assists for 18 points. She had six goals to tie her career-high in the season-opening 18-17 win over Wheaton, adding two assists for eight points. After recording three goals and two assists in a 16-15 setback at Rhodes, she notched four goals and an assist in a 15-10 win versus Coast Guard to close out the week on Sunday. 

 

GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK

Cassidy O'Hara, Johnson & Wales (RI) (So., G - Mashpee, Mass.)

O'Hara picked up two victories last week, limiting opponents to 13.91 goals per game in a 2-1 showing for the Wildcats to begin the 2019 campaign. She made 43 saves for a .338 save percentage and played every minute, including two overtime contests, winning at Wheaton (18-17) before falling at Rhodes (16-15). The sophomore allowed a week-low 10 goals on Sunday versus Coast Guard in a 15-10 victory.
