GRAND LAKE, Colo. – While the Johnson & Wales University women's lacrosse program is only four years old, senior Lydia Knapp has set the bar very high for future Wildcats. She completed her career with the first All-Region honors of her career from the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association.

Knapp (Glens Falls, NY) is the first player in program history to earn the award. In addition, she was the only GNAC player elected to any of the regional squads this year.

On Saturday against Babson in the NCAA Tournament, Knapp won nine draw controls to move into sole position of fifth place in NCAA history with 475 draw controls. She's also 11th with 6.51 draw controls per game for her career.

A four-time All-GNAC selection, Knapp finished her career with 329 points, 227 goals and 102 assists. In addition, she picked up 189 ground balls. Perhaps just as impressive, she didn't' miss a single game during the past four years.

This year JWU captured its first conference championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament. Head coach Caitlin Hansen returns five of her top scorers from a team that ranked eighth in the nation at 16.10 goals per game.
