Player of the Week
Patti Sciglimpaglia (Norwalk, Conn.), Sophomore, Pitcher/OF, University of Saint Joseph (CT)
Sciglimpaglia went 2-1 and pitched to a 0.78 ERA in 18 innings at the Fast Pitch Dreams Classic in Myrtle Beach, S.C. The Norwalk, Connecticut native allowed 11 hits, four walks and struck out 23. Sciglimpaglia pitched a three-hit shutout against Gallaudet and a four-hitter in a 6-1 win over Albright. The sophomore hurler also batted a team-best .500 (12-for-24) with a triple, home run, and a team-high nine runs scored. Sciglimpaglia went 8-for-13 hitting with runners on base.
Pitcher of the Week
Eileen Bergin (Arlington, Mass.), Sophomore, Pitcher/OF, Lasell College
Bergin went 4-1 on the slab for Lasell in five starts during their Spring trip. The Arlington, Massachusetts native went the distance in all five starts including a pair of shutouts and the first no-hitter of her career. Bergin fanned 11 over five innings during her no-hitter against New Rochelle as Lasell picked up the five inning shutout. The sophomore hurler struck out 22 over the course of 30 and two-third innings while posting a 2.97 earned run average.
Rookie of the Week
Nicole Scotti (Concord, N.H.), Freshman, Catcher/OF, Rivier University
Scotti helped lead Rivier to a 2-0 week. The Concord, New Hampshire native went 4-for-5 on the week hitting at a .800 clip while slugging 1.400. Scotti, to finish off the week, scored four runs and had 5 RBI's.
