Great Northeast Athletic Conference Men's Volleyball Report - Week 11

Offensive Player of the Week
Shawn Kennedy (West Barnstable, Mass.), Senior, Outside Hitter, Johnson & Wales University
Kennedy helped the Wildcats to a perfect 4-0 week and in the process became the school's all-time leader in kills in the 3-0 win over Mount Ida. The senior outside hitter averaged 3.64 kills per set and 1.64 blocks per set on the week for JWU, including 16 kills against Mount Ida while narrowly missing a double-double with 11 kills and nine digs in the 3-2 win over Emmanuel.

Defensive Player of the Week
Sean Donahue (Lincoln, R.I.), Junior, Middle Blocker, Wentworth Institute of Technology   
Playing in two of four matches, Donahue hit .476 and averaged 1.00 block per set. The Lincoln, Rhode Island native, had five blocks to go along with nine kills and an attack percentage of 4.38 in Wentworth's win over Emmanuel. To finish off the week, Donahue had three blocks to go along with 17 kills and two aces in the Leopards 3-1 win over fifth-ranked Rivier University.
Rookie of the Week
Sam Pisker (Mullica Hill, N.J.), Freshman, Opposite Hitter, Wentworth Institute of Technology  
Piskers averaged 2.27 kills, 0.64 aces, and 1.18 digs per set in three matches as the Leopards went 4-0 and secured the number two seed in the GNAC Tournament. The freshman had 10-kill performance and three aces in 3-1 wins over Emmanuel and Rivier. Pisker added four blocks against Emmanuel and hit .373 on the week.
