Offensive Player of the Week
Ashanti Jackson (Sacramento, Calif.), Junior, Outside Hitter, Emmanuel College
Jackson led the Saints to a 3-1 week in GNAC action, averaging in double-figures kill over the four matches. Finished the week with 51 kills in 96 attempts for a .354 hitting percentage. Averaged 3.19 kills, 1.75 digs and 0.81 blocks per set. Tallied a season-high 19 kills in a 3-2 win over Wentworth on Tuesday. Hit at least .400 in three of his four matches this week
Defensive Player of the Week
Chris Markuson (Cupertino, Calif.), Junior, Outside Hitter, Rivier University
Markuson was a monster on the defensive end for the Raiders with 13 blocks and 16 digs on the week. The junior outside hitter averaged a team high 1.44 blocks/set and 1.78 digs/set to power Rivier past 5 GNAC opponents this week. Markuson capped off his week with a 6 block, 6 dig, 10 kill, and .364 hitting percentage in a 3-0 sweep of Emmanuel.
Collin Ritter (Feeding Hills, Mass.), Freshman, Setter, Wentworth Institute of Technology
Ritter put together an impressive week, leading the Leopards to a 3-1 record with GNAC victories over Mount Ida, Johnson & Wales and Emerson. The setter dished out 150 assists over the four matches, averaging 10.71 helpers per set including a 51 assist effort in Wentworth's victory over JWU. Ritter also collected 13 digs, 11 total blocks, six kills and three aces during the week.
