CO-PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

Michael Townsend     Emmanuel     Jr.     Beaverdam, VA
Junior captain Michael Townsend led Emmanuel to a 3-2 week and was named to the All-Tournament Team at the Endicott Invititational.  The 5'8 outside hitter averaged 5.06 kills per set, 2.18 digs per set, and 0.71 aces per set, while hitting .279 for the week.  In Emmanuel's 3-0 win over Hunter College, Townsend slammed down an incredible 20 kills in 27 swings with just 1 error.  He also notched a season-high 28 kills in Emmanuel's 5-set match with NJCU.  (Kills 86     Assists 3     Digs 37   Blocks 7)

Jared Andreozzi     Rivier College     So     Barrington, RI
Jared had a great week, hitting a total of 61 kills in 5 matches for a .459 hitting percentage.  The Raiders went 6-0 on the week, but Jared only played in 5 matches.  Andreozzi had an unbelievable 19 kills with only 2 errors on 30 attempts against Baruch College in a 3-1 victory for the Raiders at the Endicott Invitational.  The Raiders were 4-0 at the Endicott Invitaional and Jared hit .508 in the 3 matches he played in.  Earlier in the week he hit .417 against GNAC opponent Lasell College with 14 kills in 3 sets played.  (Kills 61     Assists 1     Digs 14   Blocks 5)

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Brendan McGourn     Lasell College     Fr.     Soutington, Conn
McGourn had another impressive week for the Lasers, averaging 10 assists per game, 1.87 kills per game, 1.14 digs per game and .57 blocks per game.  McGourn played spectacular against WIT, putting down 11 kills, distributing 50 assists and picking up 4 digs. Also against JWU, McGourn  put up 32 assists and added five digs and five kills. (Kills 20     Assists 140     Digs 16     Blocks 8 )
