WOMEN'S ATHLETE OF THE WEEK Jinnae Jang, Colby-Sawyer (Jr., Fall River, Mass.)
In a win over Elms to begin the week, Jang won the 50 breaststroke in a season best time of 34.82. Jang then won the 50 freestyle (26.60) and the 500 freestyle with an impressive new season best time of 5:38.43, taking 10 seconds off her previous best. In a close 5-point loss to UNE, Jang posted several other top swims. Jang's first individual victory of the day came with a win in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 26.56. The junior swam to another first place in the 100-yard breaststroke with a season-best 1:14.39. She concluded her day by taking the top spot of the 200-yard individual medley with a second season-best time of 2:21.23.

MEN'S ATHLETE OF THE WEEK Joseph Clark, Norwich (Jr., Acworth, Ga.)
At Saturday's dual meet at Maine Maritime, Clark swam the opening leg of the winning 400 yard medley relay team. Joseph then won the men's 200 yard freestyle in1:54.51 and the men's 100 yard backstroke with a time of 58.18. He broke pool records with all three of his individual wins. On Sunday at Husson, Clark won the 50 yard backstroke (27.06) and the 100 yard backstroke (57.89) en route to the second Cadet victory of the weekend.

WOMEN'S ROOKIE OF THE WEEK Alexia Weir, St. Joseph (Conn.) (Fr., Hebron, Conn.) Weir once again stood out above the rest despite a 157-122 dual meet loss to Westfield State on January 17, breaking the varsity school record in the 100-yard backstroke as a freshman, by nearly three quarters of a second (1:03.61). The record was nearly three years old. She also trimmed down her own freshman 100 individual medley (IM) record with a second-place swim in 1:05.74, 1.26 seconds clear of her previous record. Weir won three events overall. |

MEN'S ROOKIE OF THE WEEK Derek Furtado, Norwich (Fr., Plymouth, Mass.)
At Saturday's dual meet at Maine Maritime Furtado won the men's 100 yard butterfly race in 56.94 and the men's 500 yard freestyle in 5:18.92, setting two pool records in the process as the Cadets defeated the Mariners. Sunday at Husson, Furtado won the 200 yard freestyle in 1:54.85 and the 50 yard butterfly in 26.09 as the Cadets topped the Eagles

WEEK 10 HONOR ROLL
Tom Cote, Husson (Jr., Saco, Maine) - Cote swam impressively for the Eagles in meets against Saint Joseph's College of Maine on Saturday and on Sunday against the Cadets of Norwich University. The junior recorded personal records in the 200 Free (2:04.06), a four second improvement over his previous best, and in the 100 Free (54.03) in the Eagles' win over the Monks. In Sunday's loss to the Cadets, he continued his hot swimming with a personal record in the 50 Free (24.52) and then recorded his fastest 200 Free Relay split (23.25) on the anchor leg of the Eagles' 1:33.72 Free Relay.
Domonique Ector, Norwich (Sr., Buffalo, N.Y.) - Ector claimed first in the women's 50 yard freestyle with a time of 26.71 and took first in the women's 100 yard freestyle in 1:01.34 during Saturday's victorious meet at Maine Maritime. Ector then won the women's 50 yard butterfly in 29.93 later in the dual meet. Her butterfly and freestyle times set new pool records. On Sunday against Husson, Domonique won the 50 yard butterfly in 29.72 en route to helping the Cadets to their second win of the weekend
Kyleigh Boatwright, Regis (So., Roseville, Calif.) - Boatwright won two individual events and was part of a relay victory to help the Pride defeat Elms College in a dual meet Saturday. First, Boatwright led off the victorious 200 meter medley relay. She then won the 50 meter backstroke by 0.32 seconds and the 100 meter backstroke by 1.66 seconds. Boatwright also finished second in the 50 meter butterfly with a time of 33.25 seconds.
Brendan Pike, Regis (So., Weymouth, Mass.) - Pike was one of Regis' top performers Saturday at Elms College. He swam the second leg of the 200 meter medley relay that won the event in a total time of 2:08.98. After finishing second in the 200 meter freestyle, missing a victory by just 0.41 seconds, Pike won the 50 meter breaststroke in 33.73 seconds, a 4.46-second victory, and the 100 meter freestyle in 58.36 seconds, a 4.09-second win.
