GNAC Men's Lacrosse Report: Week 1

( FOR THE WEEKS OF FEB. 20 - MARCH 3 )

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Andrew Fidalgo, Lasell (So., A - Wilbraham, Mass.)

Tallied three goals and one assist in Lasell's only game, a 12-10 non-conference win over MIT. His first goal tied the game at 4-4 with four seconds left in the first quarter, and his next two came came in the fourth quarter as Lasell rallied from behind with seven consecutive goals to defeat the Engineers. He also picked up two ground balls and caused one turnover to go along with connecting on 60 percent of his shots (80 percent on target). 

GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK

Logan Skinner, Saint Joseph's (Me.) (So., GK - Irving, Texas)

Skinner stopped 11 shots on the week for a 73.3 save percentage, including all five he faced in the team's 17-3 win over Husson. Skinner allowed just four goals on the week in a combined 60 minutes of action (one start) in two appearances.  

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Max Litchfield, Lasell  (Fr., M - Barrington, N.H.)

Scored two goals in Lasell's only game, a 12-10 non-conference win over MIT. His first goal tied the game at 2-2 midway through the first quarter, and his next goal tied the game at 8-8 early in the fourth quarter as Lasell rallied from behind with seven consecutive goals to defeat the Engineers.


WEEK 1 HONOR ROLL
Ryan Morley, Anna Maria (Fr., A - Hamden, Conn.) - Morley tallied 22 points on 12 goals and 10 assists while running the AMCAT offense through the X. His best game against Becker College with 5 goals and 6 assists. Morley also scooped up six ground balls and caused two turnovers as the team went 2-2 on the week. 

Brandon Pavoni, Anna Maria (Jr., A - Granby, Mass.) - Pavoni leads the AMCATS in total points after the first four games of the season with 25 points, with 14 goals and 11 assists. His best contest came against Becker College where he found the back of the net 5 times while also dishing out 5 more assists. He will go into March scoring just over 3 goals a game. 

Ben Farrell, Johnson & Wales (RI) (Sr., M - Baltimore, Md.) - Averaging 2.5 goals ... had two goals and two assists against Piedmont ... Tallied a hat trick versus Wheaton ... Also had five ground balls.

Devin Linscott, Saint Joseph's (Me.) (Fr., M - Nashua, N.H.) - Linscott scored four goals, including a hat trick against Nichols, as he scooped up one ground ball and caused one turnover on the week as the team went 1-1.

Shane Puleo, Saint Joseph's (Me.) (So., A - Nashua, N.H.) - Puleo notched 10 points on the week (two goals, eight assists) with eight ground balls and two caused turnovers.
