GNAC Men's Lacrosse Report: Week 6

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Colby Larsen, Rivier (Sr, A - Windham, N.H.)

Larsen posted a 14-point week (7 G, 7 A) in a 2-0 week of GNAC action, starting with a six-point outing (2 G, 4 A) on Tuesday in an 11-9 win over Anna Maria before posting five goals and three assists in a 14-11 win over JWU on the road on Saturday.

GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK

Nick Kandra, Norwich (So., G - Crofton, Md.) 

Kandra played all 120 minutes in Norwich's 1-1 GNAC week, stopping 33 of 49 shots for a .673 save percentage. He allowed just five goals against Anna Maria, making six saves in the 12-5 win. He then made an astonishing 27 saves against Lasell on Saturday afternoon, allowing just 11 goals on a .711 save percentage in Norwich's 11-5 setback. The performance marked the most saves in a single game in the last five years of Norwich men's lacrosse. 

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Alex Beauchemin, Lasell (Fr., G - Westfield, Mass.)

Recorded a 2-0 record with a 4.67 goals against average, a 61.1 save percentage and 11 saves in a 2-0 week for Lasell with a pair of GNAC wins. He made four saves on six shots in the first half of a 14-7 win over Emmanuel and made seven saves on 12 shots in an 11-5 triumph over Norwich, last year's GNAC regular season co-champion.


WEEK 6 HONOR ROLL
John Brunetti, Albertus Magnus (Sr., G - West Haven, Conn.) - In the Falcons' lone game of the week, Brunetti stopped 19 shots for a 65.5 save percentage to help lead the team to an 11-10 OT win against Becker. 

Brandon Pavoni, Anna Maria (Jr., A - Granby, Mass.) - Pavoni had eight goals and two assists for 10 points in three games last week. 

Ryan Madden, Lasell (Sr., M - Hingham, Mass.) - Madden collected 10 points in a 2-0 week for Lasell with eight goals and two assists in a pair of GNAC wins. He scored four goals and added one assist in both a 14-7 win over Emmanuel and an 11-5 triumph over Norwich, last year's GNAC regular-season co-champion. He also picked up three ground balls in the two wins.

Brian Wagner, Regis (Mass.) (Jr., M - Melrose, Mass.) - Wagner led Regis with two goals and four assists in the Pride's 10-3 victory over Thomas College last Wednesday. The four assists and six total points tied his career-high marks, plus he collected two ground balls and caused two turnovers. 

Matt Cloutman, Rivier (Sr, GK - Peabody, Mass.) - The senior collected two GNAC wins and 32 saves while posting a save percentage of 61.5%. Cloutman made 12 stops in an 11-9 win over Anna Maria at home on Tuesday before making 20 saves in a 14-11 win over Johnson and Wales on the road on Saturday.

Michael Finn, Saint Joseph's (Me.) (Senior, A - Quincy, Mass.) - Finn netted nine goals with two assists, four ground balls, and two caused turnovers in a 2-0 week for Saint Joseph's. The senior attack scored seven goals with a pair of helpers in a 15-7 victory over University of Southern Maine on Monday.
