GREENSBORO, N.C. – For the first time in eight years, the Johnson & Wales University men's golf team competed in the NCAA Championship. The Wildcats didn't make the cut, but had their best showing as they finished 32nd.

Johnson & Wales fired rounds of 302 and 326 for a 628 at the Grandover Resort. Prior to this year, the Wildcats best score at the NCAA Championship was a 655 at the 2009 tournament. Guilford College leads after two days with a 578.

Shooting back-to-back 75s was freshman Claudio Soukamneuth as he came in 56th with a two-day score of 150. Sophomores Christian Maselli and Alex Parente were next at 157 (76-81) and 159 (72-87), respectively. Rounding out the JWU scores was Ryan Malloy at 165 (81-83) and Hunter DiLorenzo with a 170 (79-91).

This could be the first of many trips to the national tournament for JWU as head coach Lou Parente does not have any seniors on this year's roster.
