Gorham Country Club in Maine to Serve as 2016 GNAC Men's Golf Championship Site

University of Southern Maine to host
two-day event in Gorham, Maine Oct. 15-16

WINTHROP, Mass. – Gorham Country Club in Gorham, Maine will serve as the two-day site of the 2016 Great Northeast Athletic Conference Men’s Golf Championship, the league office announced on Friday morning. GNAC affiliate member the University of Southern Maine will serve as this fall’s host for the event, which will take place Saturday and Sunday, October 15-16.

Rhode Island College has won each of the last five GNAC Men’s Golf titles, besting runner-up Worcester State University by nine strokes at the 2015 GNAC Championship in North Dartmouth, Mass.

GNAC Commissioner Joe Walsh is also pleased to announce the appointment of Johnson & Wales University Assistant Athletic Director Evan McDermott as the GNAC sports chair for men’s golf. McDermott, who joined the Wildcats athletic department in December 2015, is the former athletic director and head golf coach at Daniel Webster College.
