Albertus Senior Jaqhawn Walters Named to 2018 Reese's Division III All-Star Game

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) today announced rosters for the 2018 Reese's® Division III College All-Star game, which will be played as part of the 2018 NCAA® Division III Men's Basketball Championship. Reese's brand is the official candy partner of the NCAA. Albertus Magnus senior Jaqhawn Walters (Hartford, Conn.) has been selected to the Reese's West All-Star Team. Walters is the third player in the program, along with Darius Watson and Victor Ljuljdjuraj, to be selected.

The Reese's Division III College All-Star game will be played on Saturday, March 17, at 3:30 p.m. (EDT), prior to the NCAA Division III championship game at the Salem Civic Center in Salem, Va. The teams are composed of two senior student-athletes from each of the eight regions in Division III, two seniors selected by online voting on D3hoops.com and two senior at-large selections.

Walters was recently chosen as a First Team NACB All-District selection after earning Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player of the Year for the second consecutive season. The senior forward enjoyed a banner season for the Falcons, who won the GNAC regular-season title. He was first among GNAC leaders in both scoring and rebounding, averaging 26.5 points and 15.0 boards per game. He was also efficient from the floor, ranking sixth in the league in shooting at 54.8 percent. A native of Hartford, Conn., Walters topped 30 points eight times, including three 40-point performances, and exceeded 20 rebounds five times. He had 24 double-doubles, including a 22-point, 25-rebound performance in the GNAC Championship game, which saw Albertus fall to Johnson & Wales University in an 84-80 thriller. This season in the win over Emmanuel (Mass.), Walters recorded 14 rebounds to become the third player in program history to record 1,000 career rebounds.
