Ljuljdjuraj One of Three GNAC Student-Athletes to Receive D3hoops.com Men's Basketball All-Region Honors

WINTHROP, Mass. – Three GNAC student-athletes have been selection to the 2015 D3hoops.com Men's Basketball All-Northeast Region Team, as announced by the organization on Monday. 

Albertus Magnus College senior Victor Ljuljdjuraj (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.), who was named the 2015 GNAC Player and Defensive Player of the Year, received First Team recognition after helping guide the Falcons to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. 

Teammate and fellow senior Tavon Sledge (Spring Valley, N.Y.) garnered Second Team All-Region honors, while Johnson & Wales University junior Tom Garrick earned a Fourth Team selection.

Ljuljdjuraj was tagged as a First Team member after earning D3hoops.com Fourth Team honors last season. The senior led the nation with 4.3 blocks per game and averaged a double-double with 18.7 points and 11.2 rebounds per game.  He also shot 56.2 percent from the field. He was also tagged as the GNAC Tournament Most Valuable Player, while earning a spot on the All-Tournament Team.

Sledge led the Falcons with 20.3 points per game, while shooting 50.6 percent from the floor. He added two steals per game as well as 5.1 assists per contest as well.  He earned GNAC All-Conference First Team honors as well as GNAC All-Tournament Team honors.

Garrick too was a GNAC First Team All-Conference selection, as voted upon by the league's head coaches. The junior was second on the Wildcats and fourth among conference leaders at 19.7 points per game, while his average of 7.0 rebounds was sixth-best in the GNAC. He shot 47.6 percento overall and 37.7 percent from three-point range as JWU advanced to the GNAC Championship contest.
