NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Albertus Magnus men's basketball team has been ranked No. 9 in this week's D3hoops.com Top-25 Poll to earn a national ranking for the eighth straight week, including the preseason poll.  The Falcons moved up three spots after being ranked 12th last week.

Augustana remained in the top spot with 24 first-place votes and a 15-1 overall record. UW-Whitewater also stayed in their second-place position with its 14-2 overall record, while St. Thomas, who broke into the top-three last week, earned a first-place vote with an overall record of 12-1 to take the third spot.

Only two teams in the Top-25 are unbeaten this season as Marietta (15-0) moved up from seventh to fifth and Chapman (14-0) moved from 20th to 18th. Franklin and Marshall, now 14-1 on the year, dropped their first game of the season last week and dropped to 14th.

The Falcons are 13-1 on the year and currently hold the longest active home court winning streak in NCAA men's basketball (all levels) with 49-straight wins. The Falcons will return to New Haven next week when they play three-straight contests at home.

The Falcons opened the season ranked eighth in the preseason poll to mark their highest ranking ever in school history.

The D3hoops.com Top-25 is voted on by a panel of 25 coaches, Sports Information Directors and media members from across the country, and is published weekly.
