Oliver Named a 2014 Glenn Robinson National Coach of the Year Finalist

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Seventh-year head coach Mitch Oliver of the Albertus Magnus men's basketball team has been named one of the 12 finalists for the 2014 Glenn Robinson National Coach of the Year award. The Glenn Robinson Award is presented annually to the top Division III men's basketball coach in the nation.  Oliver was a finalist in 2012 as well.

Oliver joins Terry Butterfield (Texas-Dallas), Jeff Charney (SUNY-Purchase), Greg Dunne (Brockport State), Gary Grzesk (St. Norbert), David Hixon (Amherst), Jerry Kobasa (Welsey), Gerry Matthews (Richard Stockton), Pat Miller (UW-Whitewater), Alan Seretti (Dickinson), Ron Wood (Mary Washington), and Jason Zimmerman (Emory) among the 12 finalists.

The winner will be announced at the CollegeInsider.com awards banquet on April 4 in Dallas Texas, the site of the 2014 Division I Men's NCAA Basketball Championship.

The Glenn Robinson award is named after the longtime Franklin & Marshall coach, who has over 850 wins and is currently 12th on the all-time wins list. He has taken Frankin & Marshall to the NCAA Division III Tournament 22 times and has led his team to the Final Four in five seasons.

Oliver guided the Falcons this season to the college's first-ever "Sweet 16" appearance in any sport and led his team to its best season in program history. The Falcons finished with 28 wins to tie the program record in wins in a single-season.
