Watson, Greenaway, Ljuljdjuraj & Oliver Tabbed D3hoops.com All-Northeast Region Selections

Bloomington, Minn. - Albertus Magnus College men's basketball head coach Mitch Oliver, senior Darius Watson (New Britain, Conn.), and junior Victor Ljuljdjuraj (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) have been recognized by D3hoops.com as Oliver was named The 2014 All-Northeast Region Coach of the Year, while Watson and Ljuljdjuraj earned All-Northeast Region First Team and Fourth Team honors, respectively. Also on the team from the GNAC, Johnson & Wales University sophomore guard Quarry Greenaway (Westchester, N.Y.), who was named to the Third Team.

The team produced its most successful season in program history as it battled its way into the NCAA Tournament 'Sweet 16' and finished its impressive 2013-14 run with a 28-3 overall record, to tie its single-season record in victories.

Watson, selected as a First-Team member, finished his career with 2,158 points as he sits in third on the Falcons' all-time scoring list.  En route to being named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player of the Year, Watson tallied 647 points on the year, a 21.6 points per game average, which led the league.

The senior averaged 35.1 minutes per contest and shot 49.7% from the field and an impressive 43.5% from behind the arc.  He was named the GNAC Tournament Most Valuable Player and earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team as well.

On top of this honor, the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced Tuesday morning the rosters for the 2014 Reese's Division III College All-Star game, which will be played as part of the 2014 NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championship this weekend and Watson has been selected to the Reese's East All-Star Team.

The game will be played on Saturday, March 22 at 3:00 p.m. prior to the NCAA Division III Championship game, which begins at 5:30 p.m. at the Salem Civic Center in Salem, Va.

The senior All-Star student-athletes were nominated by coaches and selected by a panel of coaches representing each region in Division III

Greenaway, one of the best all-around players in the GNAC, was in the top-10 in nearly every statistical category this season.  He led the conference in minutes per game at 35.7, ranked fifth in scoring with 18.8 points per game, sixth in rebounds at 7.6 per contest, third in steals at 1.7 and sixth in blocks with 0.9 per contest.

Ljuljdjuraj, who was selected for the All-Northeast Fourth Team, led the Falcons with 10.7 rebounds per game, 333 on the year, and a tally of 109 blocked shots.  His blocked shots tally put him in the top-three in the nation in that category.  He was also named to the GNAC All-Conference First Team and was selected as the GNAC Defensive Player of the Year.

Oliver, in his seventh season with the Falcons, has an overall record of 139-62 at Albertus Magnus.  This season, he led the Falcons to their fourth 20+ win season and their third-straight, while producing two players on the All-Northeast Region Team, three GNAC First Team selections, and two GNAC Players of the Year.
